Costs & Fees

The cost of a whole house retrofit depends on many factors, including the size and age of the house, the type of walls, and what measures have already been completed. Costs range from starting at £30,000 for a typical house built since 2005 to £100,000 or more for older, larger or more complex homes. Its a significant investment and currently there are only limited single measure grants available to support you to do this.

As part of the design process we will guide you to MCS registered contractors who apply for grant funding on your behalf where there are eligible grants, working to a design discussed and agreed with you.

Your Home Energy Report will provide a cost estimate for your retrofit, highlighting the most cost-effective energy upgrades for your whole home.  Enquire now to help us understand what will be required for your home.

Finance options

An increasing number of banks and building societies offer green mortgages; the Green Finance Institute regularly provides updates on green mortgage offers available.

Cambridge Retrofit Hub Fees

The Cambridge Retrofit Hub Home Energy Report details your comprehensive retrofit plan.

Your journey with Cambridge Retrofit Hub starts with an online consultation with our Retrofit Advisor carrying out a basic assessment of your home, cost estimates and discussing next steps.  The advice will be based on the analysis of your submitted responses to our online customer enquiry form.  Our fee for the 40 minute online consultation is  £75.

A Cambridge Retrofit Hub Home Energy Report, a fee of £500 for an average 3 bed home, involves a rigorous Home Survey by one of our retrofit assessors to determine the ‘baseline’ performance of your home and an outline the most cost-effective steps to reach an EPC B or above. The Home Energy Report details the retrofit solution and estimated costs.

At this stage, if you are happy to proceed to design and works, further professional fees will apply, depending on type and size of the project.
